Cosmic incongruities

Keep us asking why

Scientific communities

Each star in the sky

And just why does

The Golden Plover fly

88 hours riding high

Above the buzz of Ancients

Slipping through

A deep, cold sea

That hides its chorus

From the likes of me –

Hairless ape

Just down from the tree

Aspiring to

Optical allusions

Hints and illusions

Abstract delusions

Of solving

Every mystery

In a chaotic galaxy

Author’s Note:
This piece is dedicated to my wonderful Optometrist, Dr Gordon L Lindley who clearly adores his Norwegian wife, is drawn to anything that confounds a scientist, casually discusses Sagan, Hawking and Newton – and who seems to have special interest in the vacationing habits of Golden Plovers. ~ PK
